The Western Wood Truss Association of Alberta was founded by the leading manufacturers of roof trusses in Alberta in 1984. The association of truss manufacturers, suppliers, and engineers promote the use of wood trusses and engineered wood systems in residential, commercial, and agricultural structures ensuring builders and owners the highest level of quality of products and services available.

The Mission of the Western Wood Truss Association is:

To promote public safety by participating in development and establishment of building codes
To assist members in a creating safe work environment in their places of business by developing strategies to reduce injuries
To represent the industry when dealing with professional groups and officials
To set a uniform standard of excellence for the industry and its partners through developing Quality Assurance Programs, a Code of Standard Practice and providing training to industrial employees and related trades and officials
To promote the industry to the specifiers
To help the colleges and universities with training of young professionals
To assist in development and establishment of uniform standards for the design of prefabricated wood trusses
To do all other things to foster and develop the wood truss industry consistent with the law and in the mutual interest of the Members of the association
