Our Mission

The Western Wood Truss Association of Alberta was formed in 1983. Presently thirty-two truss fabricating plants are Members plus numerous companies closely associated with the truss manufacturers as Associate Members. The Western Wood Truss Association of Alberta is a charter member of the Canadian Wood Truss Association, a partner with the Canadian Wood Council and the Wood Works! Alberta program, an affiliate member of the Truss Plate Institute of Canada, and a Certifying Partner with Partnerships in Injury Reduction.

The Mission of the Association is:

• Support, promote and advocate for the wood truss industry Stakeholders
• Set standards of excellence for our industry through continuous development and support of
  • Quality Control Procedures and Programs
  • Codes of Standard Practice in Design and Manufacturing
  • Training and Courses for industry employees
    
    
• Assist with the interpretation and implementation of relevant building design regulations
  
  

Participate in the development of the Truss Plate Institute of Canada design procedures
